Ohjaajasta:
Anthoni Levonsaari on tanssiin ja somaattisiin menetelmiin erikoistunut teatteri-ilmaisun ohjaaja (AMK), butoh-tanssija ja -opettaja. Butoh’a h?n on tanssinut vuodesta 2013 ja opettanut vuodesta 2016 alkaen eri puolilla Suomea. Anthonia kuvaillaan maanl?heiseksi, lempe?ksi ja innoittavaksi ohjaajaksi.

Hello!
Winter and early spring have flown by in my other jobs, but now it’s time to get back to butoh. At the beginning of May, I will facilitate nature butoh at a workshop organized by Luontoperinnekeskus Vipunen and Korpikulttuuri ry in Rautalampi.
In addition to spring and summer plans, I’ve already been thinking about early autumn. Maybe I’ll organize and facilitate dance activities more regularly again, depending on my life situation. You can still send me butoh-related workshop and course requests, to locations other than Central Finland, too!

Tip of the week: Butoh dance in nature on Saturday 11 May 2024

What is it like to become a part of the natural world, listen to and embody nature? In the May workshop, we will do gentle butoh exercises and dance in nature, honoring the intriguing character of the place. The workshop is beginner-friendly, but also rewarding for experienced butoh-dancers. The minimum age is 15 years, and there is no upper age limit. The instructions are Finnish and English. Welcome!
Please bring along:
- clothes which are both comfortable and suitable for moving ? please keep in mind the weather, too!
- drinking bottle and light snacks
- if you want to take notes: paper and pen
About the instructor:?
Anthoni Levonsaari is a drama instructor (BA in Performing Arts) who specializes in dance and somatic methods. He has danced butoh since 2013 and since 2016 he has taught it in different parts of Finland. Anthoni is described as a down-to-earth, gentle and inspiring instructor.

About the location:
The workshop takes place on the border of Northern Savo and Central Finland, in Rautalammi’s Myhinp?? in a diverse and peaceful natural environment. There?s an old wild courtyard, a yurt and a wild forest and rocky terrain. It is about 70 km from Jyv?skyl? and 80 km from Kuopio. The nearest train station is in Hankasalmi (30 km). A more detailed address and driving directions will be sent to those who have registered. If necessary, also ask for the possibility of carpooling!
The course is organized in cooperation with Luontoperinnekeskus Vipunen and Korpikulttuuri ry.

I am happy to announce that the weekly butoh classes will continue in the spring under the bright guidance of Nea Vilhuniemi. Yay! Classes are held every other Wednesday evening at Mahdollisuuksien Talo (Kauppakatu 19 C and D). The fee is ? 4?13, depending on the ability to pay. Nea does not own a card machine, so be prepared for cash payments.
